Primary Eye Care Training (PEC Training)

Primary eye care service is still inaccessible to a large number of people especially residing in hilly areas. It is not feasible and almost impossible to expand a separate network for eye care service in grassroots developing another channel.  Hence, it is essential to utilize existing government heath care network of the country for eye care service delivery in grassroots level in other words it is essential to integrate  primary eye care with government health care delivery system.  Realizing this fact, HEH is conducting Primary Eye Care Training to different categories of health personnel under government health care network. HA, AHW, CMA, VHW, and FCHW are being provided training on primary eye care every year. The main objective of this training is to enable health personnel working at the doorsteps of people to render primary eye care service to the people.
After the training on primary eye care, health personnel become able to re-strengthen their capability to mange the common eye problems, refer and give initial treatment for the condition which requires more sophisticated care.
