Screening Camp

With the objective of detecting patients with cataract and bring them to hospital for surgery, eye examinations camps are organized in different location in partnership with local clubs and groups. Such camps are known as screening camps. These camps are organized in a place accessible by road as patients found to be operated for cataract in camps are to be brought to the hospital.  Screening camps can be mobile and static. HEH conducts 75 to 85 such camps in different locations of Gandaki and Dhaulagiri zones every year. There from about 15000 patients are examined and nearly 1500 patients are brought to HEH for cataract surgery. Most of the screening camps are conducted in support with Lions Clubs.
